Joining Stoney Creek & Membership Information
Stoney Creek Fishing and Hunting Club is a 100% NRA member club. Prospective members must be US citizens, belong to the NRA, and possess a Hunter Safety Certificate to be eligible for consideration. New members must apply at a Club meeting with a sponsor (a Stoney Creek Fishing and Hunting Club Member) in order to be considered for membership.
The club meetings are held at 8 PM on the second and last Fridays of each month. Annual dues are $210 per year for the first five (5) years, $100 per year thereafter, and 16 hours of time per year.
The application will be then turned over to our Investigation Committee. They will call you in for an interview. Presuming satisfactory completion of the interview, your application will be scheduled for a vote. A letter notifying you of the date and time of that vote will be sent at least one week in advance of the scheduled date.
After a brief introduction at the club meeting, the general membership will vote on whether to accept the application. Once accepted, you will be given the Range Rules, Club By-Laws, a membership card, and gate card. (The Gate card will cost $10.00). A picture range badge, required to use the firing ranges, will be taken but withheld until the new member has undergone orientation on the range and demonstrated an understanding of the range rules and safety procedures -- the member's sponsor will normally take the lead on orientation, but any member can assist in the task. Once the new member is comfortable with the range rules and safety, the Range Officer will perform a certification test, with the new member's sponsor present, and issue the member's range badge upon success.
